The SURFboard is an excellent product. Quick, easy setup on Windows XP utilizing Ethernet. The Ethernet cable is included. Astounding performance, don't know why I waited this long to replace dial up access. Highly recommended! Just needed to call Mediacom (cable provider) so they can recognize it on my account. Up and running in less than 15 minutes.
Strengths: Very fast. Easy to to setup. Nice compact size that fits right into my scheme of things.
Weakness: None
I really like the performance of the SB5100 along with its looks. It is compact and very easy to get up and running. The price is a major bonus considering what some cable company's charge to lease a modem.
Strengths: Easy to install. Easy to use and troubleshoot. Good product support from vendor.
Weakness: None at this time
This product gives me a quick and easy connection to our cable line with little user intervention to complete the setup. The lights and displays on the modem make it easy to check the status of power, send and receive, online and activity. It conveniently sits upright and can be placed out of the way.
Strengths: Very fast, no problems at all.
Weakness: None
The modem is very easy to install, comes with directions and is very quick. No complaints, i'm quite happy with it so far. I've a t-1 line at work and this seems just as fast.
Strengths: Faster (noticably) than my SB4100
Weakness: comes only in Black (Beige)would match my set-up
nice & small, easy plug & Play, faster Downloads & uploads, My IE home page pops up instant (even using a proxy program) ... compuplus has the best price & Quick delivery. Highly recommend the upgrade from older versions of this modem
Strengths: Easy to setup, connects automatically nothing to configure. Great support
Weakness: None Noted
Better than any other cable modems I've owned including the surfboard 4100 and com21. It's the most up to date modem on the market today. Can expect great customer service from motorola.
Strengths: Ease of use.
Weakness: None so far.
As close to plug and play as you can get. Th software that accompanies the modem was easy to use, and required very little technical knowledge. Noticed a slight improvement over the Motorola SurfBoard 4100 that my cable company provided. Purchased through Amazon for $67 - could have gotten it a few dollars cheaper but went with Amazon because I wanted the return guarantee. I don't think I'll be...
Strengths: Price, compact size, low heat generation, faster performance.
Weakness: Feels less rugged than previous (SB3100, SB4100) models.
Noticeably faster than SB4100 using Comcast in Maryland. Modem registers in just a few seconds when powered-on (SB4100 seemed to need about 30 seconds on average). Uploads and downloads noticeably faster.
Strengths: Easy to install. Small. Flawless operation. superior features.
Weakness: none obvious yet.
The tv cable was having a sale so I signed up. I bought the Motorola modem for less money than the cable company was asking for a much older used one. I just plugged it into the coax, ethernet to the desktop, power to the adapter and there it was. The WinXP Pro wizard took over and installed the modem. I was operating the minute I called the cable co. and gave them the MAC number. After I was up...

Strengths: Great Price, Reputation

I ordered this due to the recommendation of SO many people on different user forums such as dslreports.com. I've been renting a modem for years and now that I dumped Comcast in lieu of Dish Network, I need to offset the increased fees from that change in service. For some reason when I initially hooked it up yesterday it didn't want to give me an IP address, but after sitting for a day, I hooked...
