Scanner failure caused by fault in...
Strengths: Included Adobe Photoshop Elements
Weakness: Total failure to function 3 months out of warranty.
Scanner failure caused by fault in lower case affecting function of packing switch which in turn rendered machine inoperable. Cost to repair exceeds present worth of scanner. Epson customer service, of course, dodged any responsibility for the problem which is no doubt due to design flaw or mismanufacture.
Goodbye, Epson!

Strengths: Good high quality photo scans.
Weakness: Motor is alittle noisy.
Price for quality is definitely a plus. I am using Windows 98se, and was an ease to connect and operate right out of box. So far good high quality scans.
Only one draw back is while it is scaning, it is alittle noisy.

Strengths: High resolution, a good scanner for the beginner or for the advanced. Able to scan several photos at the same time and seperate them for the software. Priced resonable.
Weakness: Not as good as the Epson 3200, but then again it doesn't cost an arm and leg. Do wish that a hard manual was included.
For the beginner or non-professional, highly recommend. This scanner will do almost anything that you need to acomplish. If you are a professional photographer then go to the 3200 if not then yes, go ahead and get this one.

Strengths: Best value for a flatbed w/ usable film scanning
Weakness: A bit noisy and slower than more expensive scanners. Film scanning good but not great.
A little loud but acceptable.Document and picture scanning is excellent. Film scanning is good but not on par with dedicated scanners. Overall, it's the cheapest flatbed I could find with decent slide/neg scanning.

Strengths: Scanning speed, bundled software, awesome color
Weakness: Description online said it had both USB and FireWire connectivity but it doesn't seem to have FireWire connectivity.
I scanned a portrait on my old UMAX scanner and again on this Epson scanner. What a difference! The color capture was awesome, and the bundled Adobe Photoshop Elements software is better than my Adobe Photoshop v3.5 software.
